Famous Immortals of the past
We will not try to prove to you that there has been immortal humans. We will name the most popular. The video on the right, will help you understand the possibilities.
Li Ching-Yuenl, Born in 1677, and died May 6, 1933, at age 256. This is officially recorded with the government of China, since he recieved prizes from the government, every 50 years, for his services.
Lao Zi, the Chinese Taoist Immortal, whose presence was recorded in the archives of the Empire from 6th to 4th century BC. He is known to have been aged 225 years when he simply went away. He wrote the Tao Te King, a famous Taoist book, of the philosophy of immortality.
Bodhidharma, 5th century, founder of the famous martial arts Shaolin temple, lived for a while with no need of sustenance. Three years after Bodhidharma's death, Ambassador Songyun of northern Wei is said to have seen him walking while holding a shoe. After arriving at Shaolin, the monks informed Songyun that Bodhidharma was dead and had been buried in a hill behind the temple. The grave was exhumed and was found to contain only a single shoe. This is a typical method for Immortals to make believe that they are dead, so they can go away undisturbed.
Count of St-Germain, whose actual date of birth and death are debated, is said to have lived from 1710 to 1784 by the skeptics. However, his presence was recorded in the court of various countries before and after that time frame. Some claim to have seen him in the 1900's. He was seen 2 years after his supposed death, to the funerals of one of his friends.
Turritopsis nutricula is a small (5 mm or 0.2 in) species of jellyfish which is biologically immortal. It originates from the Caribbean sea, but has now spread around the world. A simple creature from the sea is physically built by nature to last forever. This means that it is possible for flesh to endure enernity. |
